Natalie & Mark: "Our backyard was a disaster and we'd lost all inspiration as to what to do. Our neighbours had some work done by Craig and his team at Smart Landscapes and watching the progress of this project we were impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work. We decided to get Craig to look at our backyard to see if he could provide us with some fresh inspiration for this space. He listened to what we wanted for this area and came up with several creative ideas. From here we consulted with Craig to arrive at a design that would work best for our family's needs. Now we have a boardwalk leading to a fabulous deck for the adults to enjoy whilst the children can play on the expansive lawn areas nestled amongst garden beds containing suitable plant selections.

Craig's professionalism, attention to detail and approachable manner was refreshingly appreciated. We now have a garden that is enjoyable to spend time in."

Rod & Kerrie: "We engaged Craig & Smart Landscapes in mid 2009 to create a new garden in our back yard. We had an idea of what we wanted to achieve including a larger paved outdoor entertaining area with some interest, a vegie garden, tank to support our water needs and make our functional but unsightly iron garage less conspicuous. For us this was a major redesign of our shady, pleasant but somewhat bland garden. We wanted a new concept and design to grow with us and provide distinct zones to enjoy. We had some design challenges such as the dominant garage iron wall to work around, the fall of our east oriented rear garden, placement of water tank and irrigation needs. And the whole garden needed to compliment and enhance the 1920's bungalow features of our period home.

We gave Craig our brief and he came back to us with some design options. We worked through the budget and finer design details and work began. Our site was totally cleared to begin with a blank canvas but soon the main structure and hard landscaping began to take shape. Over the next few weeks the garden grew and we watched with excitement as Craig & his team created our new garden.

Some months forward now we have a blossoming garden with extra paved area, fabulous timber screens dressed with camellias - no garage wall to admire! We have eye catching red brick steps taking us to the raised lawn 'outdoor room' featuring a delightful pergola where we access the vegie garden with raised timber vegie beds. This has been a real treat to see and harvest our crop. The large tank and pump system have worked well so our plants survived the hottest weather when we were away.

Craig brought in the plants and creepers including a number of more mature ornamental pears to give a instant look to compliment the border lavender, fruit tress, lilly pillies. All this has transformed our back yard to a garden we can enjoy for as long as it takes to grow. Craig's work and enthusiasm has been worth the effort and budget."
